Abstract
Wireless sensor networks are useful for observing their surroundings. They are used for detection of events and tracking objects. But due to failure false response can be send by the sensors. In this paper, we consider the problem of fault detection in Wireless Sensor Network. We consider how base station take decision in a noisy environment as a result of false detection of an event or false response or both by some sensors. We consider the region of interest (ROI) is partitioned into several numbers of regular hexagons and sensors are placed at the center of these hexagons. We assume one or more events can occur in ROI and event can occur at randomly chosen hexagon. We develop fault detection schemes that introduce the error probabilities into the optimal event detection process. We consider two types of detection probabilities, one for the event node and the other one for the nodes adjacent to the event node. We develop two algorithms under the multiple model selection procedure which helps in security of two interesting special situations.
