Abstract
On choosing a sample when a survey is to be conducted in respect of the selected units a generally unavoidable situation to encounter is unavailability of the intended unit from which or from whom to gather the required data. For this contingency called ‘Unit Non-Response’ certain remedial procedures exist summarily called ‘Weighting Adjustments’. As opposed to this exists a phenomenon called ‘Item Non-Response’ when from a sampled unit actually addressed certain particular question-specific answers are gathered but on one or more items of enquiry questions remain un-answered. This is technically called ‘Item Non-Response’. To tackle such a possibility there are a few devices collectively referred to as ‘Imputation Techniques’.
