Abstract

Now that we know how to identify a genetic locus associated with a phenotype, be it qualitative or quantitative, there might arise different situations, each of which demands serious attention. This requires special treatments to search for some answers to the newly arisen questions, starting from development and/or modifying existing methods, to meeting computational challenges, and sometimes, searching for prior information to handle those issues. Each issue comes with its own special characteristics. It needs to be addressed accordingly, in a specific way in tune with the issue. Thus, one unified approach to solve all issues might seem too ambitious. If any such method exists, it needs to be evaluated carefully because there might be some compromise in performance.
