Abstract

In this paper, we study the problem of the existence of a primitive element (Formula presented.) such that (Formula presented.) is also primitive in (Formula presented.) for a given non-exceptional (Formula presented.) with its degree sum greater than 1. We obtain a condition on q for the existence of such primitive elements when (Formula presented.) and f(x) belongs to the family of even or odd functions.
